Ivory Coast: Atlantic business international gives a check of 200 million FCFA to the solidarity fund COVID 19

Atlantic Business International, a subsidiary of the Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) Group of Morocco, presented on Wednesday April 8, 2020, a check for 200 million FCFA to the COVID 19 Solidarity Fund. This contribution is part of a global envelope of 750 million of FCFA, dedicated to the fight against the Coronavirus COVID 19, in the countries of presence of the BCP Group in UEMOA zone and in the Republic of Guinea.

Faithful to its values of citizenship and proximity to the countries where it is installed, the BCP Group is thus working alongside the public authorities to face this global health crisis.

The check for 200 million, corresponding to the amount allocated to Côte d’Ivoire, was given to Mr. Adama Coulibaly, Minister of Economy and Finance, by Mr. Habib KONE, Director General of Atlantic Business International, in presence of the Minister of Trade and Industry, Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA, Mr. Ahmed BENLAFKIH, Deputy Managing Director of Atlantic Business International, Arsene Coulibaly, Managing Director of Banque Atlantique and Isidore TANOE, Managing Director of Atlantique Finance. This donation symbolizes the strong local roots of the subsidiaries of the BCP Group in Côte d’Ivoire, through its holding company ABI, its Commercial Bank, Banque Atlantique, its two insurance companies, Atlantique Assurances and Atlantique Assurance Vie, as well as its bank of business, Atlantique Finance.

In addition, as part of a global support mechanism for West African States facing this major health crisis, the BCP Group relies heavily on its locomotive subsidiary, Banque Atlantique, as well as on a system specially implemented alternative. This system is provided through the specialized microfinance networks carried by AMIFA, the financial inclusion subsidiary of BCP, by Atlantique Cash and by Wizall Money, for the activities of Mobile Money and the money transfer and payment services. Wizall Money is already selected as a payment operator for the productive social safety nets project, an operation by the Ivorian government aimed at fighting extreme poverty in the country. The BCP Group intends to continue this partnership in order to support the State in the response to COVID 19.

Aware that the protection of citizens’ health is everyone’s business, Côte d’Ivoire’s subsidiaries, like the other subsidiaries of the BCP Group, have taken strict measures to limit the spread of this epidemic within different sites, points of sale and agencies through the strengthening of health and safety systems.
