Cloud migration: AWS structures a device specific to Microsoft solutions

AWS notes the general availability of a variation of its MAP program (support for cloud migrations) focused on Microsoft solutions.

This definition applies in particular to the “Azure migration program” that Microsoft launched in the summer of 2019.

AWS has a similar offer called MAP, for “accelerated migration program”.

Last December, he announced a version focused on the migration of Microsoft solutions. Here it is officially available (beta release).

We keep the three-step approach characteristic of MAP:

  • Assessment of the ability to migrate based on the AWS cloud adoption framework (Microsoft also has its repository)
  • Resource mobilization
  • Execution, with option to modernize Windows Server, SQL Server and .NET applications.

AWS does not necessarily intervene in each of these phases.

Amazon’s cloud branch promises to support “large-scale” migrations, without elaborating *.
